The client owns and operates full service but low end hotels in secondary markets throughout western Canada. These properties were mostly developed in the 60’s and 70’s and Shugarman Architecture and Design Inc. was retained to provide a new look to each and renovate each property as per the needs of the local market.
These renovations included a new wing of suites in one property, new exterior patios in another, and a new spa and pool addition.
And in this featured project in Saskatoon, the client wanted a new exterior look, a new reception, new meeting rooms, repairs to failing building walls and windows, and new access points to the bar and restaurant.
The overall intent was to upgrade the asset to justify higher rates in a more competitive market than when the project was first built.
